I want to start a small home based business where I can bake Cakes, cookies, mints, and other sweets to sell. I was wondering if I needing a certain kind of license for a commercial kitchen or for a small home business? Any information would be appreciated! (I’m from Iowa if that makes a difference.) Thanks!
Your home kitchen will have to pass inspection and be approved before you can sell products for consumption. You need to contact your county health department to start the process for approval and licensing. Don’t bother applying for and paying for a city license until you find out if you pass inspection.

Do I need a certain license for a home based Cake/Baking Business?
How do I figure out shipping easily for a new home based business?
I need to figure out how to manage, streamline and calculate costs for doing shipping. I will be running a small to medium scale cookie mix product business out of my house. Are there any successful home based business people who can help, or anyone who has had to deal with shipping solutions? Thank you!
depending on the volume to plan to ship the USPS is generally the cheapest. Depending on weight and size first class shipping will get the item to your customer in 2-5 days and is trackable. I just do a flat rate shipping so say it costs you $2.50 to shipping you charge $4.95 that covers you supply costs. There flat rate services are great too you pay one price regardless of weight and the boxes are free.
I use UPS as well set-up an account that way you get free daily pick-up and a discount. the cost is going to be higher again depends on volume and where you are shipping too and from.
Get a thermal lable printer you can get a used on ebay for like 100 bucks it is a great thing to have UPS will give you the labels for free don’t buy them people sell them on ebay and seriously they are free. But it makes it so easy print never have to buy ink and they are perfect peel and stick. I use them for my usps packages too.
Good luck
Is an Online Internet Home Based Business Opportunity a Good Way to Go?
Hello I have been looking into some network marketing companies that want me to do some Online Internet home based business Opportunity, but I have 2 kids. Is that the best route for me to go?
I agree with Landon.
If you do your due diligence, you will find that many of these websites have been there for years, meaning they are successful.
Not to say that there aren’t any scams, because there are.
Be careful of the ones that promise overnight riches for doing practically nothing. The saying, "If it sounds too good to be true…." applies.
Internet marketing is a real and viable business, and if you are willing to put in the time and effort it can be accomplished.
You can even set up your business using completely free to use tools, software and tutorials.
Check out this website for a list of some free tools you can use. It lists great free tutorials made just for newbies that give step-by-step instructions on how to do it.

Wanting to work from home I asked about legitimate work from home companies. Are there any?
Not so long ago I asked a question about how to market a work from homehome business. Many people wrote inviting me to do their program without answering my question. A stay at home mom with young children wrote letting me know what to look for and the company she worked for. I’d like to know more about legitimate companies. I don’t want rebates, putting things together, just honest companies that offer 401K plans and the ability to make money.

Are there any work from home jobs that you can do in Australia?
I want to try and get a job that lets you actually work from home. I really wouldn’t mind anything that doesn’t involve selling stuff. I have searched and searched but most of the stuff looks like a scam. Can anyone help me?
Check with the businesses in your area… since many companies are ootsourcing work these days… it works out better for them since they have more flexibility that way rather than having employees that they always have to keep busy.
You can keep and orgainize their financial records for example.
Why does there appear to be extreme negativity to home business opps.?
A "real" and proven home business opportunity, in the form of network marketing, requires focus, positive thinking, hard work, brain power, creativity, salesmanship, honesty, client service, a high level of personal ethics, dedication to "cold" market lead generation, and consistent follow up with leads. Is there anyone that believes otherwise? I make a very good living at what I am doing, yet the common perception is that it is all a scam!
William,
I’m happy to hear that you are having success, good news is always nice to hear. The problem with the home business is not neccessarily the business itself, but all the scams that commonly do come with them. I have been looking for a home-based business that doesn’t come off as a scam for quite some time. Unfortunately, most opportunities either don’t give enough information (scary, lack of info=bad idea in my opinion), just want your money (several places I’ve tried to contact don’t exist, the "business" was a front to get people to send them money for the idea, or to ‘take over’), or the company you are going to do the work for has lackluster help if any at all. Also, network marketing is a rather new term I think, that used to be called pyramiding, which isn’t allowed anymore. I know the set up is different than the old pyramid idea, but the concept is still kind of the same, and a lot of people never did like the old Amway way of doing things. From what I have seen, as soon as you mention a pay off that is ‘pyramid’ in shape, you will loose people. But, if you fully believe in what you are doing, then don’t worry about the opinions of others, your success will eventually show through and those people will be regretting not hearing you out. Keep up the work, and send me some info on that business!
Is there a home based business that isnt a scam?
Im looking for a home based /online/ work from homehome business. With a great reputation that truly does help you earn money and doesn’t require a large start up sum. I was wondering if any one out there has tried one that truly worked.
I have a home based business with Market America. Some of their products are endorsed by Oprah,Rachel Ray, Allure.com, Latina Magazine, and Jennifer Lopez (J.Lo). Google requested partnership with Market America which they agreed to in August of this year. They are now larger than Amazon.com.
There are 2,500 exclusive products, 3,000+ partner stores and 35 million products you can offer to customers. They can price compare the items they’re looking for which means they can save money.
We work as a team sharing business volume.
How do I go about doing medical transcriptionist work from home?
I am a stay at home mom and I would like to work from home. The best thing I have heard to do is become a medical transcriptionist but I have no clue where to go beyond that..Help do I need to go to school can I go onile can I get financial aid help lots of questions!!!
Hi there,
There are actual legit medical transcriptionist jobs that you can do at home. I know this because a friend of mine does it. The best thing to do would be consult the BBB (Better Business Bureau). If they are a lucrative company they are usually listed there. Hope this helps!
Why do these work from home jobs have fees?
This isnt really a question. More of a statement. If these sites, are so legit, why wouldn’t they just take the fee out of the supposed money you make? It just doesnt make sense. No work from home job that wants money is legit. I hope this helps anyone from getting scammed.
I know they’re scams! lol…
Because those jobs are scams.. someone came up with the "job" of selling "jobs from home" to others.. the people that came up with the idea actually are working from home.
