It used to be that going to work for forty years would provide you with enough income to support your family today and a nice pension to support you in your retirement. Those days are gone. Financial gurus today are stressing the importance not relying on a job for your financial security. They are recommending that the best way to secure your family’s finances now and in the future is through a part-time home based business.

Here are five reasons you NEED to start a home business:

1) Jobs are not secure or keeping up with the cost of living. More and more people are being laid off as work is outsourced to other countries or struggling industries are forced to cut back. Further, while the economy shows signs of growth, the money has not reached the hands of middle and low-income families. In fact, salaries have not kept pace with the cost of living making families poorer! Perhaps you have been wondering why you used to live okay on your salary and now you don’t. Odds are you haven’t had a raise in years and if you have, it wasn’t enough to cover the increase in living expenses. Having a home-based business cannot only help fill this gap, but it can fund your retirement and even replace your income.

2) Job related pensions and retirements are not secure and may not be enough to support you. Everyone is aware of Enron and big losses investors have taken due to dot-com troubles. But many companies are also cutting back or eliminating their pension plans. Many don’t offer any sort of pension plan at all. With Social Security in financial trouble, you can’t expect to have the government or your boss secure your retirement. It’s up to you. A part-time home business can help you earn extra money that you can invest in your future.

3) Tax benefits. Many of the tax advantages that benefit the rich are available to you when you have a home business. Please note, I’m not a tax expert so you should always consult a tax professional on your taxes. However, as a home business owner you have many tax deductions available to you on many things you are already paying for such as expenses to run your home and Internet access fees. While the government takes its 30% off the top of your salary, it allows businesses to first deduct their expenses for doing business, and then pay taxes on what’s left over, which generally results in lower tax payments.

4) Money savings. If you are able to bring your business home full-time, you can save huge on the costs related to working such as commuting, childcare, etc. In fact, I make less now than I did when I worked outside the home, but I have more money! That’s because nearly 3/4th of my income went to pay for work-related things.

5) Improved well being. Stress, lack of sleep, no time for oneself much less a family are all the result of jobs that ask you to work more and more for less and less. The health implications for this kind of life are staggering with increased depression, heart disease, and more. Adding a side income from a home business can take the burden off of fears of losing a job because if you get laid off, you have some savings to fall back on. But if you can replace your job with your business, you can set your hours, take time for yourself, spend more time with the family, and be able to take better care of you.

According to financial experts such as Loral Langemeir (The Millionaire Maker), David Bach (Finish Rich books), Robert Allen (Multiple Streams of Income,) Donald Trump and Robert Kyioski, financial security comes from being in control of your income and developing passive income streams. All of these authors indicate that it starts by being your own boss.

I have to turn in a power point assignment and need help with punctuation.?
This is very important I have to turn it in by mid-night. I need help with my punctuation and what corrections need to be made. Thank you in advance.

1.) Today, I am happy to say that due my faith and determination, I am living my dream. My wife and I just celebrated our 12th anniversary and couldn’t be happier.
Ours sons are in school setting and accomplishing there own goals now. I enjoy my job and no longer resent having to go to work each morning. I have purchased our first home, and we now have health insurance. Now not only do I provide my family with the necessities, but I can afford he extras as well. Our family has the luxury of taking annual vacations, dining out more, and participating in other forms of entertainment. I am now in a better position to “ Keep up with the Joneses”.

2.) In the past five years I have gained a real sense of accomplishment. This all started when I enrolled at CTU and earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration. Once I earned my degree I applied for my dream job at Texas A&M and was hired. I am now the Vice President of Internal Relations for the 12th Man
Foundation at Texas A&M. The income I earn has given me the ability to pay off past debts and purchase our first home. We no longer struggle trying to live the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle. Now we are able to put our extra money into savings, and make investments in our and our sons future.

3.)Because I am a husband and father I must work to provide basic necessities and pay bills. Being the head of a family is a full time job , add on 40+ hours a week
for work and make adjustments for activities of daily living , at the end of each week I find myself short on time and money. This leaves me feeling guilty and a little selfish for taking any extra time or money to use for myself, even if it is for the purpose of eventually providing more for my family. I have been able to combat the financial aspects of this problem by obtaining a Pell Grant. To cope with the lack of time I have with my family I took a lighter course load, and I do my online courses while they sleep. My fear that I lack in both drive and intelligence is due to the fact that this is not my first attempt at college. After graduating high school I attended Hocking College in Nelsonville Ohio. I was working full time and lived at home. I didn’t make time to study and was more interested in going out and having fun with my non college friends . At the end of my freshman year I dropped out with barley passing scores. I honestly thought I could easily make a living without a degree. Now I have so many more legitimate reasons to give up when it gets hard. Instead I am using these same reasons to push through and reach my full potential. The fear that has held me back all these years is failing and disappointing my family. When I fail in life it does not only affect me it affects my family as well. If I make a poor decision my family suffer the repercussions along with me. I also want to be a good example for my sons. This is allot of pressure ,but I also have realized that it is better to try and risk failing than to never try. For me the key to success is never giving up.
The following are the required notes for my presentation. It is suppose to elaborate on my points.

You have way too much text for a professional or EFFECTIVE looking Power Point Presentation.

General rule is 5 lines and no more that 5 words per line.

Just photo copy your essay and hand it out. This is not acceptable for a PP Presentation.

In my class I would give you a failing grade for using PP in this manner.
